The guide details of
BATHROOMS AND KITCHENS
Description
:
Many kitchens and bathrooms have a condensation problem and, due to high humidity in these areas, water runs/stains appear on the painted surface. This often occurs with emulsion paints and, in cases where the dry film has not been allowed to age sufficiently e.g. at least 48 hours, blisters can appear. Water stains can usually be removed by lightly washing the surface. If the ventilation is very poor, mould infection can also occur. Condensation and fungus problems can often be brought under control by better ventilation, i.e. opening windows. If staining is persistent or flaking has occurred with an emulsion paint system, a change to an enamel paint system is recommended as follows:-
