BUILDING BLOCKS
Description
:
There are various types of building blocks which may need to be painted. A. BREEZE BLOCKS These building blocks contain a high proportion of furnace clinker. If they are allowed to become saturated with water they are likely to cause painting problems, particularly when plastered. Breeze blocks can be painted direct with most emulsion paints if the rough finish is not considered unsightly. It is pertinent to note that in adverse cyclonic climate, these blocks will allow moisture permeation and this will cause peeling or bubbling as the surface dries. The better the quality of the paint, the more pronounced the problem is likely to be. Note: Before painting with emulsions like Permotop Acrylic Emulsion MS 3 or Permoglaze Anti-Fungus, be sure to check the porosity and soundness of the surface . See "HAIRLINE CRACKS". B. CONCRETE BLOCKS These heavy building blocks are composed of sand, cement and vary in finish from fine to very coarse textured face. As for bre
